I feel teaching elementary is a calling, not simply a job
While other states turn away teachers due to low demand, Arizona is actually having trouble recruiting enough. A statewide shortage of teachers means employment opportunities are rising for those prepared to tackle the needs of students.
Complicating the issue is the fact that enrollment is growing annually in Arizona. To maintain smaller class sizes and promote greater levels of personal instruction, the state is kicking off a hiring spree – particularly at the elementary level.
In fact, positions for elementary school teachers in Arizona will grow by an estimated 17 percent through 2020, according to the U.S Bureau of Labor Statistics.
